Slot sensors (also called Fork sensors) are essentially through-beam sensors where the sender and receiver are mounted in a single rigid frame. These have the advantages of no sender-receiver alignment problems and a single electrical connection. Slot sensors are frequently used in labeling and other packaging machinery, and keep their alignment despite heavy vibration.
